$250K bail for teen charged with DUI for fatally striking 4-year-old

Now we know why the police wouldn't release the name & mugshot of the person who ran over and killed little Annabella Loerop... It turns out to be a colored boy... Deandre Wolfe
Funny how the police would have released the name and mugshot of a white person had that person ran over and killed a little black girl!

Bail was set at $250,000 for the 17-year-old boy charged with reckless homicide and aggravated DUI for the death of a 4-year-old girl who ran into the street after a ball and was struck by a car last spring.

Deandre Wolfe, of Oak Forest, has been charged as an adult in connection with the crash, Cook County state’s attorney’s office spokeswoman Tandra Simonton said.

Wolfe’s bail was set during a hearing Monday at the Bridgeview courthouse, Simonton said. A preliminary hearing was set for Sept. 6.

Wolfe had marijuana in his system, Tinley Park police said.

Annabella Loerop was struck by a car driven by the then-16-year-old about 4 p.m. on May 9 in the 6500 block of 175th Street in Tinley Park, police said.

Annabella was pronounced dead about 90 minutes later at South Suburban Hospital in Hazel Crest, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

She had chased a basketball into the street when the car hit her, said Brenda Bettenhausen, who lives next door to the girl’s family.

The car was eastbound on 175th and two postal workers driving westbound were on the scene seconds.
