Bail was set today for a Crestwood man charged with trying to bring a gun into the Willis Tower's Skydeck.Christopher Irving, 27, of the 14000 block of South Willow Lane was carrying a .22-caliber semi-automatic handgun in a backpack as he tried to enter the tower Friday, according to court documents.
Security officers at the tower opened a box in Irving’s backpack and found the gun along with a magazine loaded with nine live rounds of .22-caliber ammunition, according to a police report.
Irving was charged Friday with unlawful use of a weapon and possession of an unregisterable firearm, and his bail was set at $8,000 Saturday when he appeared in bond court.
A next court date was not available.
