Police late Friday released a surveillance image of a man wanted for sexually assaulting a woman at gunpoint in Logan Square.
The man pushed the woman into a gangway and raped her in the 2900 block of Belden at 10 p.m. Wednesday, police said in an alert. Witnesses heard the woman’s screams and chased the attacker but he pointed a gun at them and escaped. He was last seen fleeing north on Sacramento near Medill, a police alert said.
He was also spotted following another woman in the 2300 block of North Milwaukee Avenue shortly before the attack, the alert said.
The man is described as Hispanic, between 17 and 20 years old, 5-foot-7 and 185 pounds. He has a dark complexion with a “fade” haircut, the alert said. He has permanently shrugged shoulders with little or no neck visible, the alert said. He was last seen wearing either a checkered or striped shirt, possibly white and orange or white and red, as well as tan cargo pants, the alert said.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at (312) 746-8282.
