A 21-year-old woman died today after being shot in the head while playing in a dice game in the West Garfield Park neighborhood last month, officials said.
Henrietta Miles of the 4300 block of West Maypole Avenue was pronounced dead at 4:50 a.m. at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Miles had been listed in critical condition at Stroger Hospital following the shooting in the 4300 block of West Maypole Avenue on Aug. 30, police said.
Police said the victim had been taking part in a dice game when the shots rang out and she was struck in the head.
