THURSDAY, AUG. 11

Sunday L. Fowlkes, 32, of the 4000 block of West Division Street in Chicago, was charged with felony retail theft and resisting an officer. Marilyn A. Jones, 23, of the 12500 block of South Indiana Avenue in Chicago, Shashunna V. Cross, 33, of the 1300 block of McDaniel Avenue in Evanston, and Kamiesha N. Fowlkes, 25, of the 1500 block of South Hamlin Avenue in Chicago, were each charged with retail theft and obstructing an officer.

An officer saw Sunday and Kamiesha Fowlkes leave Macy's, 1 Orland Square Dr., with full bags, go to a car, and re-enter the store with the same bags around 6 p.m., police said. The officer followed the two women and saw them meet up with Jones and Cross, before seeing the four women enter various stores, with the Macy's bags appearing fuller each time, according to the report. The women drove away, and were stopped after Sunday Fowlkes rolled through a stop sign, according to the report. Sunday Fowlkes had to be pulled out of the car by an officer, police said. The other three women got out of the car and fled but were quickly apprehended.

Police were able to recover nearly $2,000 worth of merchandise from the Macy's bags from various stores in the mall. There were no receipts for the items found.
