Killer Shell Commercial... Starring Ferrari

Here's a cool Shell commercial produced for the European market: ostensibly the Ferrari F1 racing team sponsor is selling gasoline, but the historic Ferrari racing cars steal the show...

Scuderia Ferrari actually pulled several near-priceless Formula One veterans out of storage and flew the cars around the world to film them running hard through the streets of Rome , Rio , New York , Hong Kong and Monaco.

And there are no special effects or dubbed sound here, just original 14,000+rpm cars tearing up the streets... as the genuine audio will attest. Do put on your headphones and/or crank the volume and enjoy that symphony of cylinders.

The sounds alone should bring a tear to your eye...
a video that stirs the soul:

BREAKING: Burmese Democracy Activist Aung San Suu Kyi Gaining Military Support

Released from 15 years of house arrest earlier this month, pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi seems to be rapidly gaining support against the regime as she and her party attempt to be re-instated and challenge recent dubious elections...

While worldwide leaders celebrated the brave -and attractive- 65-year-old's release, now infantrymen from two Burmese army divisions confirmed reports that several hundred soldiers travelled to Rangoon to witness Ms Suu Kyi regaining her freedom. This is the first time we've heard of such a split in the military... one who's generals rule the country with a iron grip.

BBC Burma (Myanmar):
The extent of support for her in the army is not clear. A number of soldiers from battalions in Rangoon and Bago divisions and their families went to Aung San Suu Kyi's house on the 13 November to greet her on her release. "We went there to greet her because we believe the hardships the lower rank and file are facing can be solved if Ms Suu Kyi and the military commanders work together.

"We have high hopes for Ms Suu Kyi," a soldier told the BBC Burmese service.

It follows reports in September that soldiers in many areas were refusing to carry out routine tasks in protest at short rations and lack of access to their pay. In a series of BBC interviews, soldiers in garrison towns said their rations had been cut for weeks. They said commanders had barred access to money they had saved, which is kept in a central fund.

The Burmese authorities have denied any disquiet in the military.

This of course is the same impoverished country who's leaders had North Korea build them nuclear bunkers and then created -from scratch- a bizarre new capital to get away from the miserable and restive populace. "Naypyidaw" was established on a greenfield site in the middle-of-nowhere, 200 miles north of the traditional capital, Rangoon.

These guys got a lot to lose now, can't see them just handing all this right over to her... and we've already seen in the past that they've got no reservations about treating their own people like dogs -or worse- to maintain their own positions of great privilege in Burmese society:

Stuxnet Hitting China Now

A most unwelcome visitor...

Breitbart:
A computer virus dubbed the world's "first cyber superweapon" by experts and which may have been designed to attack Iran's nuclear facilities has found a new target -- China.

The Stuxnet computer worm has wreaked havoc in China, infecting millions of computers around the country, state media reported this week. Stuxnet is feared by experts around the globe as it can break into computers that control machinery at the heart of industry, allowing an attacker to assume control of critical systems like pumps, motors, alarms and valves. It could, technically, make factory boilers explode, destroy gas pipelines or even cause a nuclear plant to malfunction.

The virus targets control systems made by German industrial giant Siemens commonly used to manage water supplies, oil rigs, power plants and other industrial facilities. "This malware is specially designed to sabotage plants and damage industrial systems, instead of stealing personal data," an engineer surnamed Wang at antivirus service provider Rising International Software told the Global Times. "Once Stuxnet successfully penetrates factory computers in China, those industries may collapse, which would damage China's national security," he added.

Another unnamed expert at Rising International said the attacks had so far infected more than six million individual accounts and nearly 1,000 corporate accounts around the country, the official Xinhua news agency reported.

The Stuxnet computer worm -- a piece of malicious software (malware) which copies itself and sends itself on to other computers in a network -- was first publicly identified in June. It was found lurking on Siemens systems in India, Indonesia, Pakistan and elsewhere, but the heaviest infiltration appears to be in Iran, according to software security researchers.
Rumored origin of course is an Israeli-CIA collaboration of some sort. DebkaFile reported that Israel has had special elite units carrying out such assignments for some time. Three years ago, for instance, cyber raiders played a role in the destruction of the plutonium reactor North Korea was building at A-Zur in northern Syria. Now reportedly 3000 centrifuges are down at Nanantz... and these 7th-century savages had no idea what hit them... but they've started to figure it out

Israel is probably more than 10 years ahead of the Iranians in this field, and I doubt this is the last of it- not by a long shot. Cyberwarfare presents a battlefield of Israel's choosing: it's fairly deniable, and far preferable for a country smaller than Lake Michigan taking on Syria, Iran, Hezbollah, and Hamas all at once... and with tepid US support.

American Lindsey Vonn to be Stripped of Olympic Gold Medal

IOC: Lindsey Vonn Must Forfeit Gold...

In a shocking development, the International Olympic Committee announced today that it has taken back the gold medal previously awarded to American skier Lindsey Vonn, now handing it instead to U.S. President Barack Obama...

Officials said  in a statement that Obama simply deserved the medal more than Vonn... as nobody has ever gone downhill faster than he has...
