Elizabeth Taylor, who is the epitome of Hollywood glamour, elegance with a colorful life, died on Wednesday (March 23, 2011) from congestive heart failure at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, She was 79 years-old.
The screen legend is known for her movie classics like “Cleopatra”, "Father of the Bride," and “Cat On a Hot Tin Roof”. Liz Taylor won two Academy Awards for best actress for her roles in “Butterfield 8” (1960) and “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” (1966).
Taylor was appointed Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1999.

According to
TMZ, Taylor's rep says the actress died "peacefully" from congestive heart failure, "a condition with which she had struggled with for many years." The rep adds, "Though she had recently suffered a number of complications, her condition had stabilized and it was hoped that she would be able to return home. Sadly, this was not to be."
She was survived by her four children: Michael Wilding, Christopher Wilding, Liza Todd, and Maria Burton. She got ten grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
