Annette Charles aka Cha Cha from 'Grease' Died; Aged 63

Annette Charles, who is known for her character role as Cha Cha DiGregorio in the hit musical film Grease, has  passed away due to complications from cancer. He was 63 years-old.


She died Wednesday (August 3, 2011) at her home in Los Angeles. A family member told reporters: “Annette had recently started having difficulty breathing … and when she went to the doctor she learned that she had a cancerous tumor in her one of her lungs.”

In her 1978 movie “Grease” with John Travolta (Danny Zucco), the raven-haired actress proclaimed herself as the "best dancer at St. Bernadette's"!

Her “Grease” co-star Jeff Conaway also died last May at the age of 60 after spending weeks in a coma and struggling with addiction.

Amy Winehouse's Death "Leaves a Gaping Hole in Our Lives"

The untimely death of Amy Winehouse came as a surprise to many people but not to her parents. Sadly to say, her mom Janis Winehouse knows that her daughter's wild ways will caught him and it just a matter of time.


Janis told the British Mirror:
"Her passing was so sudden it still hasn't hit me," said mother Janis, who will now always remember how Amy said, 'I love you mum' at the end of an enjoyable day together.

“They are the words I will always treasure,” said Janis. “I’m glad I saw her when I did.”
Winehouse's family has issued a statement about the tragic death of their 27 year-old singer.
Our family has been left bereft by the loss of Amy, a wonderful daughter, sister, niece, She leaves a gaping hole in our lives. We are coming together to remember her and we would appreciate some privacy and space at this terrible time."
The world mourns over her death, Amy revolutionizes the music industry and definitely she influences many young celebrities today.

The "Rehab" singer had a history of battling drugs and alcohol. Last month, she cancelled her European tour after her poor performance.

Amy Winehouse Found Dead, aged 27

Controversial singer Amy Winehouse reportedly was found dead at her home in London Saturday (July 23). The police are  still investigating the circumstances of her death.

According to reports, "Police said they had found the body of a 27-year-old woman at a flat in Camden Square, north London, after being called by ambulance services around 4 p.m. BST. They said they were treating the death as unexplained."

The Grammy-winning singer had a history of battling drugs and alcohol. Last month, she cancelled her European tour after her poor performance.

Former first lady Betty Ford dies, age 93; Obama, Reagan's Statement

Former first lady Betty Ford, the lady that symbolized hope and determination to surpassed alcohol and prescription drug addictions, has passed away on Friday (July 8, 2011). He was 93 years-old.


Betty Ford is the widow of former US president Gerald R. Ford and she's the co-founder of Betty Ford Center in California, a rehabilitation clinic famous for alcohol and drug abuse treatment.

President Barack Obama released a statement:
"Throughout her long and active life, Elizabeth Anne Ford distinguished herself through her courage and compassion. As our nation's First Lady, she was a powerful advocate for women's health and women's rights. After leaving the White House, Mrs. Ford helped reduce the social stigma surrounding addiction and inspired thousands to seek much-needed treatment. While her death is a cause for sadness, we know that organizations such as the Betty Ford Center will honor her legacy by giving countless Americans a new lease on life.

"Today, we take comfort in the knowledge that Betty and her husband, former President Gerald Ford, are together once more. Michelle and I send our thoughts and prayers to their children, Michael, John, Steven, and Susan."
Former first lady Nancy Reagan also released a statement:
"I was deeply saddened this afternoon when I heard of Betty Ford's death. She has been an inspiration to so many through her efforts to educate women about breast cancer and her wonderful work at the Betty Ford Center. She was Jerry Ford's strength through some very difficult days in our country's history, and I admired her courage in facing and sharing her personal struggles with all of us.

"My love and deepest sympathy go out to the entire Ford family at this very sad time."
Betty Ford also fought the Big C and she underwent a mastectomy in 1974. Since then she actively helped raise awareness about breast cancer.

‘Australian Idol’ Judge Jay Dee Springbett Found Dead

Former Australian Idol judge Jay Dee Springbett was found dead in his hotel room in a Wooloomooloo hotel late yesterday (June 30). Police said the death was not suspicious and initial reports regarding the cause of death is that he suffered a heart attack.


The 36-year-old Sony music executive handled some projects with Cassie Davis, Jessica Mauboy, Rogue Traders and Karnivool.

'Columbo' Peter Falk dies at 83

Veteran actor Peter Falk, who is best known for his role as Lieutenant Frank Columbo in the detective crime TV series "Columbo", has died Thursday in his Beverly Hills home. He was 83 years old.


A rep for the family issued a statement, "Peter Falk, 83-year-old Academy Award nominee and star of television series, 'Columbo', died peacefully at his Beverly Hills home in the evening of June 23, 2011."

Faulk had been suffering from Alzheimer's disease and this issue was used in the conservatorship court battle back in 2009 between Falk's wife Shera Danese Falk and daughter Catherine Falk. His wife was appointed as her husband's conservator.

He received five Emmy awards: one for "The Price of Tomatoes" in 1961 and four Emmys were for "Columbo."

Ryan Dunn’s “Proving Ground” On Hiatus !


After tragic car accident in Philadephia, the show “Proving Ground” of Jackass star Ryan Dunn  on G4 Network will be on hold!


The network will stop airing the show and in a statement:
"All of us at G4 are shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic news that Ryan Dunn has passed away. Ryan’s comedic wit and signature no-holds-barred approach made him an incredible talent and his work on G4’s Proving Ground was flawless. Ryan will be missed dearly by his legion of fans and we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends during this difficult time."

"The show will not be airing for now and discussions are underway re future plans"
In his program, Ryan is doing famous stunts from TV shows, movies and videos. Sadly to say, the show's Tuesday premiere last week scored 31,000 viewers.

"Jackass" star Ryan Dunn Died in a Fatal Car Accident!

Ryan Dunn, who is known for doing wild crazy things in "Jackass", died after a tragic car crash involving his 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 in Pennsylvania early Monday morning (June 20). The daredevil was 34 years-old and sadly, he has passenger --- who also died...

Police found his car off the road and "engulfed in flames". Hours before the fatal tragic accident, Ryan posted a photo on Twitter that showed him drinking with two friends. Police is still investigating if alcohol played a part in this unfortunate event. Cops believes speed may have been a factor.

A untimely tragic event. Many are surely devastated with his death...

Meanwhile, Dunn's popularly known funny stunt is from the first Jackass film (2002) in which he placed a toy car in his rectum.

'Grease' Jeff Conaway Dies at Age 60

Actor Jeff Conaway, who is known for his role in TV sitcom "Taxi" and the movie musical "Grease", has passed away Friday morning (May 27) at a Los Angeles-area hospital. He was 60 years-old.

Conaway had battled drug and alcohol addiction for many years and he appeared on VH1's Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew Pinsky.


The troubled actor was rushed to the hospital after he was found unconscious last May 11 and placed in a medically induced coma. Initially, it described as an overdose but later on Conaway was being treated for pneumonia and sepsis until his death. Conaway's family decided took him off life support (Thursday, May 26).
"Jeff was taken off life-support [Thursday] afternoon," his manager, Phil Brock, tells PEOPLE. "His family chose to take him off of life-support based on advice from physicians. They thought for several days that the situation was hopeless."
Conaway became notable when he took the role of Kenickie in the 1978 film adaptation of 'Grease' alongside John Travolta and Olivia Newton John. Also in the same year, Conaway joined the cast of the hit TV series "Taxi," playing the role of Bobby Wheeler (1978-1981). He was nominated for a Golden Globe Award in 1978.

Other TV projects includes Babylon 5, Wizards and Warriors, The Bold and the Beautiful and many more... He also directed the 1992 film, Bikini Summer 2.

"Macho Man" Randy Savage dies at 58

A very sad day for the wrestling world!

Wrestling icon "Macho Man" Randy Savage died in a fatal car accident Friday morning in Tampa, Florida. He was 58.
According to TMZ, Randy's brother, Lanny Poffo shared that the wrestling legend suffered a heart attack while he was behind the wheel around 9:25 AM ... and lost control of his vehicle.

He was driving his 2009 Jeep Wrangler when he veered across a concrete median ... through oncoming traffic ... and "collided head-on with a tree."
His wife Lynn was in the car, but suffered only minor injuries.

He gained lots of followers during his WWF (WWE) career from 1985-93.

He had a cameo role as a pro wrestler in the 2002 blockbuster, “Spider-Man”.

Watching him doing his high-flying elbow drop from the top rope and hearing him saying his famous catch phrase "Oooooooh yeahhhhhh" will be surely missed!!!

Director Tim Hetherington Killed in Libya; Photographer Chris Hondros also Died!

Tragic end for Oscar-nominated director Tim Hetherington! He just became the latest casualty in the on-going conflicts in Misrata, Lybia.


The 41 year-old filmmaker, who is known for covering and directing the documentary film about the Afghanistan war titled ‘Restrepo’, was killed in a mortar attack and he was pronounced dead before arriving at the hospital.
The Hetherington family issued a statement, "It is with great sadness we learned that our son and brother photographer and filmmaker Tim Hetherington was killed today in Misrata, Libya by a rocket-propelled grenade. Tim will be remembered for his amazing images and Academy Award nominated documentary 'Restrepo' which he co-produced with his friend Sebastian Junger. Tim was in Libya to continue his ongoing multimedia project to highlight humanitarian issues during time of war and conflict. He will be forever missed."
Another victim is photographer Chris Hondros, who suffered a brain wound and in a statement by Getty Images -- Confirming that Hondros, one of its staff photographers, also died from the rocket-propelled grenade attack.

Hondros is a veteran in covering intense conflicts from Kosovo, Lebanon, Iraq, Afghanistan and many more. He also won the Robert Capa Gold Medal, war photography's highest honor.

Elizabeth Taylor's son Michael Wilding: She's an "extraordinary woman who lived life to the fullest".

Elizabeth Taylor’s son, Michael Wilding, released a statement about the death of his mother who he described as an "extraordinary woman who lived life to the fullest".

“My mother was an extraordinary woman who lived life to the fullest, with great passion, humor, and love,” Wilding, 58, said in a statement Wednesday. “Though her loss is devastating to those of us who held her so close and so dear, we will always be inspired by her enduring contribution to our world.”

“Her remarkable body of work in film, her ongoing success as a businesswoman, and her brave and relentless advocacy in the fight against HIV/AIDS, all make us incredibly proud of what she accomplished. We know, quite simply, that the world is a better place for Mom having lived in it. Her legacy will never fade, her spirit will always be with us, and her love will live forever in our hearts.”
Silver screen icon Elizabeth Taylor died on Wednesday (March 23, 2011) from congestive heart failure at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, She was 79 years-old.

Hollywood icon Elizabeth Taylor Dies at Age 79

Hollywood icon Elizabeth Taylor, who is the epitome of Hollywood glamour, elegance with a colorful life, died on Wednesday (March 23, 2011) from congestive heart failure at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, She was 79 years-old.

The screen legend is known for her movie classics like “Cleopatra”, "Father of the Bride," and “Cat On a Hot Tin Roof”. Liz Taylor won two Academy Awards for best actress for her roles in “Butterfield 8” (1960) and “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” (1966).

Taylor was appointed Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1999.

In the romance department, she has been married eight times to seven husbands:

* Conrad "Nicky" Hilton (6 May 1950 – 29 January 1951) (divorced)
* Michael Wilding (21 February 1952 – 26 January 1957) (divorced)
* Michael Todd (2 February 1957 – 22 March 1958) (widowed)
* Eddie Fisher (12 May 1959 – 6 March 1964) (divorced)
* Richard Burton (15 March 1964 – 26 June 1974) (divorced)

According to TMZ, Taylor's rep says the actress died "peacefully" from congestive heart failure, "a condition with which she had struggled with for many years." The rep adds, "Though she had recently suffered a number of complications, her condition had stabilized and it was hoped that she would be able to return home. Sadly, this was not to be."

She was survived by her four children: Michael Wilding, Christopher Wilding, Liza Todd, and Maria Burton. She got ten grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

“Batman” star Michael Gough Died!; Age 94

British actor Michael Gough, who is popularly known for his role as Bruce Wayne's butler Alfred Pennyworth in all four movies of the Burton/Schumacher “Batman” franchise, has passed away on Thursday (March 17). He was 94 years-old.


The veteran actor appeared in more than 100 movies and he won Broadway's 1979 Tony Award as Best Actor for Bedroom Farce.

Some of his film credits includes “Blanche Fury” (1947), “Dracula” (1958), “Phantom Of the Opera” (1962), "The Corpse" (1970), "Satan's Slave" (1976), "Out of Africa" (1985), "The Age of Innocence" (1993), "Sleepy Hollow" (1999), "Corpse Bride" (2005) and Alice in Wonderland (2010).

Mike Stars Mixing Drugs before his death?

Former Alice in Chains bassist Mike Starr is reportedly mixing methadone and anxiety medication before he was found dead in his home in Salt Lake City (March 8).


Mike's roommate tells TMZ that Starr is using methadone to stay sober and he's taking medication to control anxiety after his arrest last month.
Mike’s roommate said, “Mike was a beautiful person who was fighting to stay sober … I am going to miss him greatly.”
The cause of death has not been determined yet and still under investigation.

Former Alice in Chains rocker Mike Starr found dead!

Former Alice in Chains bassist Mike Starr, who joined the reality TV show "Celebrity Rehab 3" in 2009 for drug problems, was found dead in a Salt Lake City house on Tuesday afternoon (March 8). The cause of death is still unknown. He was 44.


Despite his treatment for heroin addiction, Starr failed to fight his demons. He was arrested last month in Salt Lake City on felony possession of a controlled substance (six Xanax pills and six tablets of the painkiller Opana).

'Last Comic Standing' finalist Mike DeStefano dies

Comedian Mike DeStefano, who was one of the finalists on last season's edition of  “Last Comic Standing”, died of a massive heart attack Sunday night (March 6). He was 44.


Mike’s management, 3 Arts Entertainment released this statement (via Punchline):
"We are indeed incredibly saddened by the loss of this amazing man. He had touched the lives of many with his unique brand of comedy and was looking forward to sharing the same with so many more. Mostly, we will all miss his huge heart and incredibly loving and selfless passion for people.

Our friend Mike DeStefano passed away on March 6."
Mike, who was HIV positive, has surpassed his heroin addiction and he had been clean for 11 years.

DeStefano had been set to perform his one-man show A Cherry Tree In The Bronx on Wednesday at the Barrow Street Theater in New York City.

"Deadliest Catch" Justin Tennison Found Dead. He was 33.

Justin Tennison, crew member of F/V Time Bandit for the reality series "Deadliest Catch", was found dead in a hotel room in Homer, Alaska on Tuesday (February 22). Autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death. He was 33 years-old.

Initial reports from the police that there's a small amount of marijuana and several bottles of alcohol were discovered in the room.

Time Bandit captain Andy Hillstrand released a statement via Facebook:
It is with great sadness that the Time Bandit family announces the death of crew member, Justin Tennison. Justin died peacefully in his sleep the night of February 21, 2011.

Justin fished commercially for many years, living in Alaska for 28 years. He worked on the Time Bandit, alongside his second cousin, Eddie Uwekoolani, Jr., serving as Engineer during the tendering seasons, and joined the Time Bandit crew as a deckhand fishing the Red King 2010 and Opilio 2011 seasons. Justin was tough as a bull and was an all-around good hand. The Captains and Crew appreciated his hard work and many contributions this past year. We will miss him terribly and wish his family all the best during this most difficult time.

Justin is survived by a son, daughter, sister, father and grandparents. He was 33 years old.

'Narnia' Executive Producer/Novelist Perry Moore Found Dead

Perry Moore, the executive producer of the 'Chronicles of Narnia' trilogy, was found dead in his W. Houston St. home on Thursday (February 17).


According to NY Post, his partner Hunter Hill found his body at the bathroom around 9:30 am and immediately called the paramedics but he was pronounced dead shortly after they arrived. OxyContin overdose is the initial result of the investigation.

The producer's father, Bill Moore says, "He was set to do some mighty good things. Parents are not meant to bury their children."

Moore and his partner Hunter Hill wrote and directed the 2008 "Lake City" starring Sissy Spacek and Rebecca Romijn. The 39 year-old Moore also wrote the young adult novel "Hero," about a gay superhero rejected by his teammates.
