DIABLO Turncoat Dede Scozzafava Paid Back Promptly by Democrats... with a Job!

After dropping out of a 3-way congressional race to endorse the Democrat over NY Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman in NY-23 back in 2009, Dede Scozzafava has gotten her payback- a cush appointment from Democratic NY Governor Andrew Cuomo.

For many of us, the way the RNC was comprehensively out-witted and out-maneuvered by the unprincipled and ruthless Democrats came as a bit of a shock... and an early indicator that Michael Steele was really not up to the job in the face of a Chicago-Machine-style full court press in this country.

Dede Scozzafava -after taking over a million dollars in GOP campaign cash- appeared to have made a deal with somebody from the dark side, and once Hoffman's TEA-party-propelled surge pushed her into 3rd place she not only dropped out to back Pelosi's handpicked favorite Bill Owens over Hoffman (a mere two days before the vote), but even went so far as to make 11th-hour robo-calls on behalf of the Dem. With the Democratic machine finding a job for her yesterday, it all comes full-circle for anyone paying attention.

Scozzafava also humiliated Newt Gingrich, heavily damaging his political stock in the age of the TEA party. Likely on RNCC orders, Gingrich argued fervently for the campaign of the ACORN-endorsed, pro-abortion, pro-stimulus, and pro-CARD CHECK Scozzafava while denigrating Hoffman... thereby setting a pattern of similar GOP missteps in backing disloyal scumbag RINOs in Florida and elsewhere.

And Scozzafava did all this while still calling herself a Republican, as she continues to do... although perhaps not for long. Country star John Rich had another name for her: Dede Schizophrenic

Blogger Stacy McCain was on-the-ground covering the whole debacle in NY-23 back in 2009... and now offers this succinct conclusion:
Former North Country Assemblywoman Dede Scozzafava — who became a household name across America during a tough 2009 congressional race — was appointed today by Gov. Andrew Cuomo as deputy secretary for local government at the state Department of State.

Scozzafava, a Republican, dropped out of the 23rd Congressional District race three days before the 2009 election and infuriated some Republicans by throwing her support to Democratic candidate Bill Owens – not Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman. . . .

In late December, Scozzafava told The (Syracuse) Post-Standard she was still a Republican.

“I’m still a Republican. I felt an obligation to the people that elected me to the state Assembly to stay in the party that I’ve been enrolled in for my entire life, at least throughout the end of my term in office. We’ll just see from there,” she said.
What Dede Scozzafava did can never be forgiven, nor should it ever be forgotten. Let her name be known to history as an epithet, a synonym for betrayal: Judas. Benedict Arnold. Quisling. Scozzafava.

Amen to that-

Hoffman 2010? Run Doug, RUN!

With mid-terms less than a year away, Tuesday's election results in New Jersey and Virginia should have a chilling effect on wavering Blue Dogs, thus undermining ObamaCare's chances of passing in anything like it's current form.

SanFranNan's already made it abundantly clear she has little concern for these Democrats from conservative districts' fate... she forced them into line while ramming-through Waxman's cap-n-tax and the wasteful and ineffective Porkulus- and using a lot more stick than carrot. And when it comes to any input in creating these bills, moderate-conservative Dems were offered no better than the GOP, either- in other words, treated like a bothersome child, and ignored.

This then will be the situation faced by freshly-minted Congressman Bill Owens from NY-23... who ran on a fairly conservative, pro-business platform to get elected- for a Dem, anyway. How he handles the balancing act of keeping his promises in DC -without offending Pelosi, who sponsored him- over the next 12 difficult months will have a lot to do with his ability to fend-off his next challenge at the polls in November 2010- and whether he can beat a reconstituted Doug Hoffman campaign with full GOP backing from the start... and an admiring national fan-base.

The National Revue seems to see the tenacious Hoffman having another go at it... I sure hope so:
Hoffman’s candidacy generated much talk of a civil war in the GOP. Ironically, it is Owens who is about to learn firsthand what it’s like to belong to a majority that brooks no dissent.
When Blue Dogs voiced their concerns over the speed at which Pelosi was attempting to ram the health-care overhaul through the House, their fellow Democrats responded with contemptuous sneers. ... Former DNC chief Howard Dean warned of primary challenges for Blue Dogs if they didn’t support the public option........
Is Hoffman up for the challenge of another tough campaign? Bob Miller relates a telling anecdote. “When Doug got in the race, I told him, ‘They’re going to come after you.’ And he said, ‘Bob, anything that happens to me is nothing compared to what our Founding Fathers risked to stand up for their principles.’ That’s the kind of person he is.”
The slogan printed on the backdrop at Hoffman HQ last night read, “Fight back.” In the next few months, conservatives will be urging Hoffman to fight on.

And did you hear Obama's staff claiming he "wasn't watching" any election results? That the NJ and VA governors' races were "just local"- so of course he had little interest in them?

LOL- as Team Obama make it clear just how stupid they think you are, they'd also surely like us to forget the failed-campaign billboards at Moonbattery for these "local" and supposedly unimportant-to-the-Dear Leader contests... where Obama stumped heavily, was the poster-child in campaign materials... and in which the Democrats were trounced... -here-

Conservatives Roll to Victory

With both Virginia and New Jersey governors' mansions going to Republicans, and conservative Doug Hoffman's team now predicting victory in House district NY-23, we have Barack Obama losing important races where he and the DNC pretty much gave it all they had- but independents swung-hard to the right, a hideous shock for the pompous Team Obama. And this shot across the bow was desperately needed for the sake of the country, too- as this crew is way out-of-control.

As has been discussed, this is a similar situation to 1993 when the GOP took both of these same gubernatorial races on the way to a midterm rout of the Dems -forcing Clinton to the right and off his HC reform- from 1994-onwards. McDonnell's victory in Virginia was a real blowout, too- almost twenty points at last count... and this coming just a year since Obama won the state by a comfortable margin.

Some on the Right might not see Mr Christie in NJ as a true conservative, due to some of his views... but the message to our misguided and radical White House -as well as jittery Blue Dogs up for election next year-
is clear: this country's had about enough. The excuses, blame deflection, and spin will be delivered frantically from the left this week... but the truth is that the Dear Leader's prestige has been seriously damaged, and this may in-fact be a significant turning-point for the political balance in this country.

These victories -along with the lessons of NY-23- couldn't come at a better time for the GOP, as to provide momentum and steer the party towards Reaganite candidates in the runup to mid-term elections next year. Tonight we saw the the latest manifestation of a backlash that the dinosaur media and online Left have been working so hard to hide- but has been brewing for some time now.

Gibsy tried to claim that Obama "wasn't watching" the returns this evening- and was already downplaying their significance. Does anybody actually believe that?

About time for a Marlboro, eh Barack?

Note that
this is what things looked like for the Dear Leader going into this debacle tonight- not good:

Update 12:18am EST: Bad news: networks are now calling NY-23 for Democrat Bill Owens

Country Star John Rich on "Dede Schizophrenic"

The Watertown Daily Times covered Doug Hoffman's final rally with John Rich, Fred and his wife Jeri Thompson, and others last-night in Watertown last night. The energetic mood was described as "raucous", and Thompson made a heartfelt statement of support, as he recollected on how all this had came to be.

Hoffman -speaking before John Rich's set- pledged that if elected, "I'm not going to fool around"...

"I'm going to get on the Armed Services Committee and I'm going to make sure that everything we can do for Fort Drum, we do it. I'm going to make sure that we help Watertown with new jobs, new businesses and new economy that's going to carry us through for the next 10, 20, 50 years."

Mr. Hoffman also pledged to "stop the Nancy Pelosi agenda of higher spending, higher taxes, more government regulations, more red tape. And most of all, we don't need them running our health care system."

"Tomorrow, there's going to be a lot of conservative partying going on in this neck of the woods," said Rich, half of the country duo Big and Rich.

Rich also took swipes at Dierdre K. Scozzafava and the Republican officials who picked her as a congressional candidate over Mr. Hoffman.

"I'm a little sideways with the Republican Party for putting up Dede Schizophrenic," he said.

The singer said of Ms. Scozzafava's decision Saturday to suspend her campaign:

"There was a fox in the hen house, but you know what? We smoked that fox out."

Of course Stacy from The Other McCain is on the ground in upstate NY for the BIG day, and after a week long odyssey... praying for it all to end -here-

While Dan Riehl sees New Media's short history already repeating itself -here-

Biden Claims Hoffman "Handpicked by Rush Limbaugh"

While speaking to a pitiful half-full hall of cca 250 people in Watertown NY, Sloe Joe Biden lumped-together conservative NY-23 candidate Doug Hoffman and his major supporters as "neoconservatives" who "won't tolerate opposing views".

And if LOL Czar Joey Plugs planned, got up early, and gave-it-all-he's-got... he could possibly be more of a hypocrite than this. Coming from the most partisan and radical administration in American history, painting Doug Hoffman as intolerant of political opposition strikes one as pretty rich.

As reported by the Watertown Daily Times, Joey Plugs went-on to claim that Hoffman was annointed by Rush Limbaugh as the successor to Army Secty. John McHugh- huh?

Hoffman's Tailights Getting Smaller?

PPP is now reporting America's conservative Doug Hoffman leading Democrat Bill Owens by 15 points in a head-to-head contest. In a three way contest Hoffman leads Owens by 19 points, so the Scozzafava withdrawal and endorsement will probably tighten the race some... but not nearly enough to help Obama's would-be lapdog. (h/t Gateway Pundit).

Hopefully this whole bizarre episode of GOP/NRCC bumbling, Team Obama's shameful tactics, and Scozzy's appalling disloyalty will end with a silver lining- one hugely beneficial to the agenda of new Reaganites like Sarah Palin- and thereby the whole Republican Party.

A concise summary of the latest polling data in this dramatic contest can be found at MAinfo -here-

Stacy at The Other McCain is again at-the-front in upstate NY, and took-part in a blogger/media conference call in the wake of Scozzafava's endorsement Democrat Bill Owens, as ertstwhile ally Jimmie Bise of Sundries Shack is back holding-down-the-fort at TOMc HQ with Smitty, keeping us all up-to-speed on the latest developments.

Scozzafava's former campaign spokesman Matt Burns joined-in on the call as well... it was apparent he felt a deep personal betrayal in her dubious endorsement of Nancy Pelosi's handpicked toady Owens. Then again, Burns might just be covering his ass re. any shady deals made between Scozzafava, Charles Shumer, and the White House- as even left-wing HuffPoreported:
Team Obama were indeed desperate for a victory here- In the White House, at the very least, officials are bracing themselves for a loss, calling Scozzafava's departure bad news for Owens. The one hope, they say, is if Scozzafava -- who has more philosophical similarities with the Democratic Party than Hoffman's brand of Republicanism -- was to formally endorse her former rival.

"This hurts," one administration official told the Huffington Post on Saturday, "unless we can get her on board." And on Sunday, the White House all but confirmed that it was after Scozzafava's endorsement.

Appearing on ABC's "This Week," Obama's senior confidant, Valerie Jarrett said the administration "would love to have -- of course, have her support."
Scozzafava talked with Charles Shumer and called Rahm Emanuel on the day of her treacherous ingratiation- with her liberal agenda and union-boss husband, you've got to wonder what was exchanged under-the-table there.

Now Sammy at Yid with Lid reports Darryl Issa's PAC is suggesting just that- and it is becoming increasingly clear that Obama is attempting to buy this election, just like they do it back in scuzzy ol' Chi-Town.

Now she's not just endorsed a Democrat a week after defrauding $1M in GOP campaign support- while claiming she was "proud" to be a lifelong Republican- Dan Riehl has found her actively campaigning for the Democrat Owens, making robo-calls in NY-23. Is this just spiteful vengance? Or part of some deal with our unscrupulous, manipulative White House yet again?

The Left Coast Rebel offers a useful summary on Matt Burns' further insights from inside the Scozzafava campaign -here-

In other statist-FAIL news, slimy NJ Governor John Corzine looks to be going-down in flames now, too- Moonbattery has that -here-. Van also takes a look at Newt Gingrich's lesson learned -here-

Add that to the trouncing the Democrats are facing in the Virginia governor's race, and we are looking at a comprehensive rejection of Barack Obama's radical, "progressive" agenda from most of those he couldn't buy or silence... and not moment too late for the sake of the country.
