Whiskey Tango Foxtrot: WHY is Marco Rubio Backing John Cornyn for NRSC Chair...?

Whadda-deal for John Cornyn...
what did the kid get us in return?

That's right... the same John Cornyn that tried -and failed- to screw-over Rubio in Florida by putting-in the fix for Sunkist Crist is now running unopposed... and Marco Rubio reportedly supporting his bid to remain NRSC Chairman!

Predictably, conservatives aren't taking the news too well...

Other McCain:
Sen. John Cornyn is expected Tuesday to formally make a bid for another two years as chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee.
GOP sources confirm to CNN that the Texas Republican will put his name up for nomination for re-election as NRSC chairman, as the Senate Republican Conference meets behind closed doors. According to the sources, the two-term senator is not expected to face any opposition in his bid to remain as NRSC chairman, and has already secured the support of a number of new Republican Senators, including Marco Rubio of Florida, Rand Paul of Kentucky, Rob Portman of Ohio, and Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire. (CNN)
Are you freaking kidding me? Marco Rubio supporting that treacherous bastard who tried to put the fix in for Charlie Crist?

An unsettling development to be sure... but consider this:

In the House -ever since John Boehner and Eric Cantor made the wise move and good-faith gesture of offering TEA-Party-propelled rookies a place at the table- there's been a spirit of deal-making in the air... culminating in a sudden about-face by Mitch McConnell as he pivots to support Jim DeMint's earmark ban.

Did ole Mitch see the light? Doubtful... more like the writing on the wall, TEA Party power has got these ossified DC pachyderms back on their heels now. As Sarah Palin says, the GOP must join the revolution... or become irrelevant.  A pragmatic deal was made in the House to avoid party infighting and get on with the vital business of saving the country... and in the process, the Republican Party.

So... just what deal did Rubio and other freshmen Senators make to support a man who tried -and failed- to destroy their rise..? Must have been something significant put on the table to snuff all challenges just like that...  or so logic dictates.

And is Rubio really that malleable and unprincipled as to sell-out before he's even seated?  I for one don't think so... just doesn't make sense: he already beat the NRSC, Dems, and Charlie Crist handily, coming from behind to whip them all.... why should he fear Cornyn now?

There has got to be more to this one... and the genuine grassroots conservatives that put Rubio if office need some genuine answers.

Establishment Wakes and Smells the TEA: Republican Freshman Kristi Noem to Join Congressional Leadership

Smart move, Mr. Speaker...

In a savvy political move also indicative of the growing respect the TEA Party constituency has garnered, GOP House leaders say they will grant incoming freshmen far more say in the party’s direction than most first-term lawmakers receive...

WSJ:
House Republican Leader John Boehner and his No. 2, party Whip Eric Cantor, will notify newly elected Republicans Tuesday that one member of their class will get a seat at the leadership table and another two will be given spots on the Steering Committee, which decides committee assignments and chairmanships in the new Congress.

“The incoming GOP freshman class will have a larger voice at the leadership table and on the Steering Committee than previous GOP freshman classes in previous Congresses,” according to an advanced copy of the letter. Members of the class will run for these positions, along with those of class president and freshman representative to the policy committee, on Nov. 17 after the entire Republican caucus selects its leaders for the next two years, according to the letter.

With 80-plus new members, the freshmen class will be an influential group. Many claim strong ties to Tea Party activists who bickered frequently with the party establishment in the run-up to last week’s midterm election.

Messrs Boehner and Cantor and others have promised to make sure these newly elected lawmakers play a prominent role in deciding the party’s path forward.

The letter to freshmen is signed by Mr. Boehner, the Ohio Republican who is in line to be House speaker, and Mr. Cantor, the Virginia Republican who is expected to become majority leader in the next Congress.

Interestingly, South Dakota's new US Congressional Representative Kristi Noem -who is often compared to The Arctic Fox herself- has thrown her rancher's hat in the ring. And according to Neil Cavuto's sources, she's already got it bagged:

Two of the sources said that South Dakota's Kristi Noem- has expressed interest in the leadership post and appears to have the backing of the current GOP leadership.
A source close to Noem confirms that she is interested in the leadership slot and has talked to several members of the Republican leadership about it.
Noem would have to be elected by the freshman class of Republican House members.
If she got the spot, it could help the new House Republican majority with two issues: bringing someone associated with the Tea Party movement into the leadership fold, and adding another woman.

Kristi Noem is a true Reaganite conservative who's quite telegenic and well-spoken... Gipperesque, even.

Rep-Elect Noem actually holds the all-time fundraising record for GOP congressional challengers, and it is impressive indeed for a Capitol Hill rookie to be offered such a position of influence and power from day one.

She's good...very good, and has GOP rising-star written all over:

This is the new face of the vehement and tireless patriotic opposition you needlessly created out of thin-air, Mr President...
coming to getcha.

So have you ordered the MSM/HuffPo/Kos scum that prop you up to get-on with the Palinization yet...you sniveling coward?

Lessons of 2010: RUBIO -not Romney- Republicans in the Drivers' Seat for 2012

"Usually, a figure like Romney is the big shot
who arrives
in town to boost a little guy like Rubio

This time, it's the other way round..."

With Marco Rubio pretty much running-away with it in Florida, all those with presidential ambitions on the Republican side are taking-note of the rapidly evolving political landscape in this country... and making hurried adjustments.

Two things have become apparent re. 2012: Better give us a small-government, Reaganite-conservative... the TEA Party movement will hold de facto veto power over the nomination.

And it won't necessarily be the next-guy-in-line this time, either... both these developments likely sound less than ideal to professional presidential candidate Mitt Romney- the father of RomneyCare does have some explaining to do.

Toby Harnden from The Telegraph (UK) was in Florida this weekend as Mitt was actually stumping for Marco Rubio's all-but-sealed Senate bid. But with GOP rising-star Rubio up 12 points over Orange Charlie, why was Romney even there... and who was more likely to benefit from the association?
Despite the shifting political sands of the past two years, one thing has been constant: Mitt Romney running for president.

Having spent many millions of his personal fortune being defeated in 2008, he scarcely paused for breath and just carried on with his 2012 bid. Campaigning up and down the country during the mid-terms, Romney has been endorsing candidates, holding fundraisers and building up the kind of network of goodwill that traditionally stands White House aspirants in good stead.

His message is finely honed and has resonance. Matinee Mitt will never look like that regular guy next door but he's stopped tending to his bouffant thatch, shed his tie and loosened up a little.

Talking to several hundred fired-up Republicans crammed into Benedetto's Italian restaurant in a strip mall in Land O'Lakes, Florida on Friday, Romney accused Obama of trying to smother "the very creed of America" with taxes, excessive regulation and the growth of what Margaret Thatcher called the nanny state.

But the star of the show was not Romney but Marco Rubio, who seems to be coasting to victory in the Florida Senate race...

America is now making a sharp turn to the right... and the next couple of years look to be quite different than the last:
The departure of his chief of staff Rahm Emanuel has forced Obama to make changes in the White House before he planned to.

Precriminations for the expected Democratic drubbing are underway and Obama's contribution has been to berate his supporters for the "inexcusable" sin of "sitting on their hands complaining".

Usually, a figure like Romney is the big shot who arrives in town to boost a little guy like Rubio. This time, it's the other way round. Young, bursting with energy and brimful of indignation, Rubio was the main draw in Benedetto's. Romney appeared to be hoping for a bit of the Senate candidate's magic to rub off on him.

Initially written off as too Right-wing and young to win in Florida, Rubio will be one of the Republican kingmakers in 2012, which is shaping up to be an election like no other.

Unabashed Marxist Van Jones Warns: The TEA Party Aims to Control Your Life!

And he says it with a straight face... (almost)

Matt at Conservative Hideout 2.0 dug up this telling clip yesterday (video)- just listen to this propagandist spin like the Tasmanian Devil, good grief.  When you get the gist of where where he's is coming-from, the level of power once bestowed upon Van Jones by Dear Leader is unsettling to say the least. And how can we forget the truly pathetic performance as Obama's "Green Jobs Czar", where Jones pissed-away $60B... while creating no jobs?

Besides the repetitive drone of threadbare racial themes, this latest spiel betrays textbook-case liberal projection, having the audacity to claim in alarmist tones that the TEA Party -a loose alliance of Constitutionally-aware patriots- aims to control our lives... is this guy for real? What Obama and his army of Czars lack in competence, they make-up for in unmitigated gall.

But as anyone who hasn't been living in a cave for the last two years can tell you, it's the Obama Administration itself that consists of the worst liberty-trouncing control freaks this nation has ever endured. Matt at Conservative Hidout 2.0 notes that their repressive agenda is the one diametrically opposed to the freedom and liberty this country is based-upon (central tenants of the TEA Party movement):
"Well, I think the most important thing for us to understand is that sometimes you vote your hopes... and sometimes you vote your fears. In 2008, we where able to vote our hopes, we were able to stand together, across party lines, across racial lines, really for the first time in American history- and say "we want to go in a new direction".

And as the President has said, "that was a changing-of-the-guard... now we have to guard the change".

And, the challenge we have now is, is that..., this that this election is feeling more fear-based, and, uh, what we got to realize is, that is... support us, because if you think things are bad now, just wait until these people screaming at these TEA Party events are in charge of your government, actually in charge of your life, actually in charge of your kids' future, that is... maybe you've got some hope-fatigue, but you've got plenty of reason to be fearful enough (laughs)- to stay involved, to get involved.

I don't think you want the TEA Party running your community, running your family, running your government."

-Van Jones
Meanwhile back in reality, I'd like to say this 9-11 truther-weirdo Van Jones just doesn't get what the TEA Party is all about...
but he knows,
 lying Bolshevik piece of crap.
