'Generic Republican Candidate' Leading Obama 46-44% in Latest Poll

Dear Leader already trailing anybody-but-Obama...
now watch as the economy really tanks

This is the third week now Rasmussen finds Obama in negative territory vs. a 'generic' GOPer... clearly the OBL bump is gone. And do you know why theirs are the only polls I would ever take at face value...?

First, Rasmussen's well-documented and widely-acclaimed accuracy emanates from polling only likely voters... not just "adults" like others. Simply quizzing any grown-ups Gallup can reach on the phone who are willing to talk to them means many of the fine citizens they manage to scrape-up have never voted (nor worked) a day in their lives... thus, predictably warping poll results to the left of where the actual voters' heads are at.

And you'd never see the kind of skewed samples from Rasmussen that others employ, either... another stunt we've seen with increasing frequency in recent MSM efforts to prop-up the floundering Obammunist regime.

Then consider the superior methodology employed in the production of Rasmussen's popular Daily Presidential Tracking Poll: not only does Rasmussen again interview only likely voters, the DTTP index counts hard sentiment, bypassing those who just flipped a coin-- by subtracting "strongly dissapprove" of Obama from "strongly approve": the number deduced today a pitiful -17%.

Contrast that with left-leaning Gallup's polling of "national adults" and simply "approve" vs "dissapprove"... producing the far more palatable 47/47, in other words zero differential vs. Rasmussen's reality-based -17.... you tell me which seems closer to the sentiment out there on the ground, all I can say is that I don't know a single soul who's happy with this Twilight Zone episode of a presidency.

Of course, Rasmussen's insightful and accurate polling isn't of much use to many that don't want to hear the grim truth sometimes... thus leaving a large market opening for those willing to serve the unprincipled agenda of the Left.

NATO Chief Already Looking to Slink-Away from Aimless Debacle in Libya

"We have to realize that
there is no military solution"

After weeks of making statements that closely resemble Obama's hollow platitudes and wishful thinking on Libya  (i.e. Gaddafi "increasingly isolated", "walls closing in", "optimistic" that he'll "eventually" go, etc) but at the same time doing little effective to bring any of that about, the line emanating today from NATO chief Anders Fogh Rasmussen is that the military alliance should not be expected to defeat Muammar Gaddafi on the battlefield, ever...

NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen has warned it will be necessary to find a political solution to the conflict in Libya.

As heavy fighting raged around the city of Misrata on Sunday, Rasmussen said he was very optimistic that Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi would lose his grip on power.

"We have stopped Gadhafi in his tracks. His time is running out. He's more and more isolated," said Rasmussen.

However, speaking the news network CNN Rasmussen added that military power alone would not end the conflict.

"First of all, we have to realize that there is no military solution. We will need a political solution to break the stalemate," he said.

The Danish PM also noted that rebels are running out of supplies in their lone western outpost of Misrata... small wonder, with Gaddafi flying light aircraft right under NATO's noses on the way to-and-from their destruction of the city's lone fuel depot.

One might expect that a large port town like Misrata could be easily re-supplied by sea... and that certainly would have been the case had not Gaddafi already succeeded in mining the harbor while again violating the farcical No-Fly Zone with ease, this time employing low-flying helicopters in false-flag Red Cross and Red Crescent livery.

Of course, the NATO alliance has never been committed to victory in Libya. That -along with the fact nobody seems to know who the rebels are, exactly- is more than enough reason to have never gotten involved in the first place.

Western leaders purport to be primarily protecting Libyan civilians from the pro-Gaddafi forces' vengeful, savage ways, but they can't even seem to fulfill that level of tepid, politically-metered ambition: Yes, NATO has inflicted substantial material damage on the regime, but they also erroneously bombed rebel tanks and troops whilst failing utterly to prevent pro-Gaddafi guns, rockets, planes and helicopters from pounding Misrata right into dust.

As for the hapless civilians we endeavored to spare from all this, life in the midst of Misrata's ongoing destruction is understandably said to be steeped in constant fear and terror: one told CNN "Oh my God, it's like a like a horror movie!" with hospital emergency rooms packed with burned, amputated, and otherwise disfigured victims who suddenly found themselves on the receiving end of the Brother Leader's random shelling: "It has become an operation of revenge".

And that's not all he's been getting away with while NATO snoozes: Amnesty International has already accused the hyper-brutal Gaddafi regime of war crimes up to and including the use of internationally-banned cluster bombs on civilian targets. Others report Tripoli regularly sending Viagra-fueled rape squads to the front when moving on urban areas.

Just when it sounds like things couldn't get any worse, there's at least 10 tons of mustard gas left sitting in a warehouse near the Gaddafi birthplace/hometown of Sirte...

Poll: 'NO Bin Laden Bounce' for Obama

"Definitely NO election bounce for Barack Obama"

While some libs waxed delirious over the political value of yesterday's big news with "just cancel the (2012) election now", a 10%+ poll bounce, etc., it did bear the unmistakable stench of wishful groupthink...

Political analyst Alastair Newton in London was one of the few contrarians out there, noting that not only did the market rally have no legs, the unpopular, far-Left domestic agenda dragging down Obama's approval rating for months won't be forgotten anytime soon...

“The immediate reaction in the US notwithstanding, 'normal business' will soon be resumed in US politics.

There will be no change on the fiscal/debt polarization and contrary to some commentators' reaction, definitely no election boost for Obama,” said Newton in an interview with CNBC on Tuesday.

With little or no operational control over al-Qaeda in recent years, Newton believes Osama’s death will have little impact on the terror group’s ability to mount attacks.

“Bin Laden’s role as head of al-Qaeda seems to have been largely symbolic for some years now, he was not responsible for operational planning and decision-making,” he added.

Alas, today's Rasmussen poll shows not even that expected immediate bounce, as the Bolshevik Boy Wonder's Presidential Approval Index (strongly approve minus strongly dissapprove) is still languishing at a sub-mediocre -10%

Contrasted with a number of -12% yesterday, (a change well within the margin for error)... I guess that astroturf flash-mob of 20-somethings they had in front of the White House didn't fool anybody.

Fun Facts from Rasmussen Reports

  • Just 38% of voters now favor the health care plan proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats. That’s the lowest level of support measured for the plan in nearly two dozen tracking polls conducted since June.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 56% now oppose the plan.

  • Obama's Presidential Approval Index rating is at -15. This is the second straight day at -15... and the lowest rating yet measured for this bewildered, failing President.

  • 2010 New York Senate Race: Giuliani 53%, Gillibrand 40%...Democratic incumbent Kirsten Gillibrand may have a serious problem on her hands if hero-of-9/11 Rudy Giuliani gets in the U.S. Senate race, according to the latest numbers. Obviously, the man is held in high regard by NYers for his legendary performance as mayor of NYC and duty in a time of crisis... as now evidenced by Giuliani's double-digit lead in early polling.

  • Speaking of NY, Just 35% of New York State voters agree with AG Eric Holder’s decision to try the confessed mastermind of the 9/11 terror attacks (KSM) and five other suspected terrorists in a civilian court in New York City rather than before a military tribunal... with 55% are opposed.
Most sensible people want them tried and shot promptly at Gitmo, of course- then there's out-there Team Obama.

Obama Support Collapsing, Hits New Low

Today Rasmussen Reports has President Barack Obama's approval differential at a new all-time low for him of -15... as his previously lofty support continues to tank hard.

The figure represents the difference between Obama's strongly approve likely-voter respondents -at this time 27%- versus those who "strongly dissapprove"... a number which has now climbed to a telling 42% in the wake of the administration's radical agenda and serial incompetence.

Note that Rasmussen PAI polls are responses from a sample of likely voters. Some other firms base their approval ratings on samples of all adults- President Obama's numbers are always several points higher in a poll of just adults... rather than likely voters.

Already Michael Barone is asking in the Washington Examiner:

"Are Democrats exiting the sinking ship...?"

Dear Leader Tanking, Oh My-

Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows that 27% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-one percent (41%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -14.

That matches the lowest rating yet recorded for this President...

More fun facts from Rasmussen:
  • 51% Oppose Decision To Try Terrorists in New York City
  • Just 33% Say U.S. Heading in Right Direction
Note that Rasmessen PAI polls are responses from a sample of likely voters. Some other firms base their approval ratings on samples of all adults- President Obama's numbers are always several points higher in a poll of just adults... rather than likely voters.

That's because some of the President's most enthusiastic supporters, such as young adults, are less likely to turn out to vote, among other factors.

Libs Caught Pulling a Fast One

Some express considerable surprise at how quickly the Democrats have proven themselves stoopid, misreading their perceived election mandate severely- thus the aggressive legislative overreach and consequent plunging support. They actually thought that most Americans wanted a statist makeover of this country, and are caught offguard by swelling public outrage... but I don't see it that way at-all.

Obama-Pelosi-Reid and other liberals are plenty out-of-touch with ordinary Americans, to be sure- but if they ever believed that such sweeping, radical legislation had public support -and that this is what people were asking for last November- then why the habitual dishonesty, broken promises for openness/bipartisanship, stealthy power-grabs, the rush towards a vote without reading the proposals, sneaky last-minute amendments, threats to use dubious parliamentary maneuver, a ceaseless propaganda campaign -some of it funded with Federal tax dollars, union bouncers dispatched to bully town-hall protesters, relentless playing of the race card, paid internet trolls... and Alinskyite attacks on any/all opponents?

Does any of that behavior bespeak confidence that America was ready to welcome what they're now attempting to foist on us? Well, ends always justifies the means for the Left, because of-course they know better than the rest of us... but being aggressive, ruthless, and unprincipled certainly doesn't ensure success. The truth is, the Democrats tried to pull-one-over on America... and they got caught.

This is a country that likes a stand-up guy... but not so-much squirelly shell-game socialists who take advantage of our trust. Obama is the opportunist who mistakes good-faith kindness for weakness... not only do you have to back him off, but it's hard to allow the benefit-of-the-doubt (or to like him much) again after that.

Americans have now awoken, and they smell not only the coffee... but a scam... and they don't like it. As the failures mount, they're now expressing that displeasure in no uncertain terms. Sadly, in a time that screams for pragmatism and leadership, Team Obama provides little of either:

Rasmussen has Obama's Approval Index at a -13%, one-point off his all-time low. Although this figure has proven voliatile, for the first time during Obama’s time in office the index is in negative double digits for seven straight days.

Seven months after a pork-laden "stimulus" bill was peddled as something that would cap unemployment in the mid-eights, 49/50 states have lost jobs- six million jobs shy of Obama Administration projections.

With joblessness at a 26-year high of 9.8%, it's clear why the Dems seek any GOP support they can scrounge-up for these blatantly non-bipartisan bills... purely for political cover. Trouble is, he didn't get much of that on the ill-fated Porkulus- so Obama owns this piggy, and he's starting to wish he didn't...

Although we were promised something entirely different, the "stimulus" package has been wholly ineffective... despite its deficit-spiking $800B tab. And the frightening jobs chart looks like it fell-off the edge of the table... -here-

Support for Obama's top domestic priority- the health care plan proposed by the President and Congressional Democrats- is down to 42%...
54% are opposed.

The GOP has beaten the Dems in fundraising for the 2nd straight month.

The Republicans have pulled ahead by five points in the generic congressional poll.

Obama is now out campaigning/fundraising for his party's future, which he and congressional leaders have brought to the edge of the abyss in just seven months. Breitbart reports that the dollars aren't materializing as much as expected—even with a record-shattering fundraiser like Obama working furiously.

Two weeks before off-year elections, Dems are facing the prospect of losing hard-fought gubernatorial races in Virginia and perhaps New Jersey, too.

The Russians and Iranians are making a fool of Obama- as Israel wisely makes plans to go-it-alone

Meanwhile, Obambi is a deer-stuck-in-the-headlights re. Afghanistan- with commanders now begging for him to make some/any decision. And as the Boy Wonder diddles and goes to his standard default setting -blame Bush- Dick Cheney sees a man frozen with fear...

Now doubling-down in his foohardy, diversionary attack on Fox News- the Dear Leader is making himself look still more petty and vindictive with an infantile you-can't-come-in-our-tree-fort chat at the WH- excluding Fox News and other perceived enemies, but including reliable MSM toady Maureen O'Dowd and a couple of the mindless parrots from MSLSD- read about that at Left Coast Rebel... -here-

Another Black Conservative is wondering how a certain knee-jerk bootlick with the tingly thigh didn't make the cut... perhaps the intensity of his Obama-man-crush even gives Barack the creeps? -here-

Stop the ACLU has a look at why Obama is in over his head, sinking fast... while taking America with him -here-.

And the Gateway Pundit has a deeply insecure White House e-mailing MSNBC during their live broadcast to "correct" them- insisting that Jake Tapper's exchange with the Gibster was "not heated"... nothing more pressing, Rahm?
