Thunder's Kendrick Perkins Arrested In Texas

Oklahoma City Thunder forward/center Kendrick Perkins was arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct in his hometown of Beaumont, TX early Saturday morning (August 13, 2011).

KFDM reports that the 26-year-old defender got involved in an argument with a club manager outside 'The Ticket' night club and approximately 50 people gathered around perkins as he was attempting to fight the manager. Perkins continued to yell obscenities and was attempting to fight several other people in the crowd.

Perkins was taken into custody around 4:00am and was charged with two misdemeanors: Public intoxication and disorderly conduct. He was released after posting $150 bond.

He was a starter for the 2008 champion Boston Celtics and last season Oklahoma City acquired him in a trade. He received multi-year contract extension worth $34.8 million.

Ex-NBA player Darius Miles arrested on gun charge at Airport

Former NBA player Darius Miles was arrested at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday after being caught of attempting to bring a gun through security.

STL Today reports that TSA personnel discovered the weapon during an X-ray screening at the airport.

He was booked into St. Louis County jail on suspicion of unlawful use of a weapon.

Playing at East St. Louis High School in his young basketball career, Darius Miles was the 3rd overall pick in the 2000 NBA Draft by Los Angeles Clippers.

Despite his potentials, he became a journey man in the NBA --- he joined Los Angeles Clippers, Cleveland, Portland and Memphis. Miles failed to be in Charlotte Bobcats' roster in 2010.

During his stint with Memphis Grizzlies (2008-09), Miles was suspended for 10 games for violation of the league's substance abuse policy. He was arrested for marijuana possession and driving on a suspended license during a traffic stop back in May 2009.

Jalen Rose Busted for Speeding Hours after DUI Jail Sentence!

Jalen Rose's stroke of bad luck is still rolling and his latest is a speeding ticket in Michigan (July 27). His new violation happened the same day he was sentenced 20 days behind bars stemming from the March 2011 DUI arrest.

TMZ reports that "Rose was popped shortly before 9pm in the Detroit suburb of Clawson -- for going 46 mph in a 25 mph zone."

It seems Judge Kimberly Small made her point ---- first-time offenders must also serve jail time or they will become habitual violators.

Paula Abdul teaches Sportsmanship!

Known for being a sweet compassionate talker, Paula Abdul has expressed her sympathy and support  to Japanese team who won the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup beating the United States. Paula was very annoyed over some of the disappointing  remarks tweeted by some individuals.

The 49-year-old singer tweeted,

"the #racist garbage some people are vomiting on twitter over the #worldcupfinal is insensitive & unwelcome. NOT the spirit of sportsmanship."

Japan beats the US in a stunning and dramatic penalty shootout victory. The world cup win symbolizes unity and hope to the Japanese people who are still dealing with the aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami that devastated the country.

Using the word racist seems too much but Paula Abdul is right about the essence of true sports.

New York Yankees' Derek Jeter Reaches 3000 Hits

New York Yankees short-stop Derek Jeter added another record to his unbelievable career in Major League Baseball. He just joined the 3,000 career hits club during Saturday’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays at the Yankee Stadium (July 9, 2011).

He became the 28th major league player and the first Yankee to make 3000 hits. The 37 year-old athlete is also the fourth youngest player to achieved this record.

The record home run happened at the third-inning against Tampa Bay southpaw David Price and he finished the game with 5-5.

Pittsburgh Steelers’ Hines Ward arrested for DUI

Pittsburgh Steelers’ wide receiver Hines Ward was busted Saturday morning in Georgia on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Ward, who is also Dancing with the Stars Season 12 Champion, was taken and booked at the DeKalb County jail at 3:41 a.m. He was released on $1,300 bond.

Last May, the 35 year-old athlete had a run-in with the police. He was mistakenly accused as a car thief. His lady companion failed to alert the cops about the car which they already found. The arresting officers, who drew their weapons and handcuffed him, has apologized for the misunderstanding.

Dallas Mavericks' DeShawn Stevenson Arrested for Public Intoxication!

Dallas Mavericks' DeShawn Stevenson is definitely in high spirit after his team defeated Miami Sunday night to win the NBA Finals and definitely he will celebrating left and right.

Now, it seems he partied too much as he was arrested for public intoxication in Texas (June 14).

According to TMZ, "Police received a call about some drunk guy wandering around." Stevenson has undergo field sobriety test in which he failed.

Cops apprehended him after they "felt he was a danger to himself and others."

He posted $475 bail for his released.

If you remember, Stevenson made a trash talking statement against LeBron James after defeating Miami. He wore a t-shirt with lettering that read: "Hey LeBron! How's my Dirk taste?"

Shaquille O'Neal announces retirement via Twitter

No more "Hack-a-Shaq" of "Shaq attack"!

NBA superstar Shaquille O’Neal decided to end his professional basketball career after 19 seasons. He announced his retirement with a video via Twitter.

In the video titled “Shaq ooout”, Shaq says, “We did it. 19 years baby. I want to thank you very much. That’s why I’m telling you first. I’m about to retire. Love you. Talk to you soon.”

The 7-foot-1, 325-pound center is a three-time NBA Finals Most Valuable Player, four-time champion, 15-time All-Star game and many more.. He played for Orlando Magic, the L.A. Lakers, Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers, Phoenix Suns and Boston Celtics.

Sad day...

J.R. Smith Arrested For Riding Scooter Without License

South Beach Police arrested J.R. Smith of the Denver Nuggets after he was caught operating a scooter without a valid driver’s license (My 28).

According to TMZ, Smith was not jailed for the offense and will appear in court at a later date.

Behind the wheels, the 6’6 NBA guard got a long list past legal problems involving cars (driving suspensions, car accidents).

Oscar De La Hoya Enters Rehab!

Boxing icon and Golden Boy Promotions founder Oscar De La Hoya is now seeking professional help as he decided to voluntarily checked himself into a rehab for “treatment to address certain health and personal issues.”


Checking into a California-based facility to take care his substance abuse problem, In a statement issued to to TMZ:

After doing an honest evaluation of myself, I recognize that there are certain issues that I need to work on. Like everyone, I have my flaws, and I do not want to be one of those people that is afraid to admit and address those flaws. Throughout my career and my life, I have always met all challenges head-on, and this is no different. I am confident that with the support of my family and friends, I will become a stronger, healthier person.

De La Hoya's last fight is with boxing champ Manny Pacquiao as the Golden boy took a beating from the people's champ. Pacquiao won the bout on the 8th round via TKO. De La Hoya announced his retirement on 2009.

Another great sport hero fallen to this kind of issues but the good thing is, he is facing and trying to defeat his demons.

A job well done! -- According to The National Historical Institute (NHI) on Charice's rendition of the Philippine National Anthem "Lupang Hinirang" [Video Below] at Manny Pacquaio vs. Shane Mosely Bout in Las Vegas, Nevada.

NHI always criticized other singers for failing to deliver the right rendition of the Philippine National Anthem but this time, Charice made sure that her performance is acceptable.

Manny Pacquiao wins unanimous decision over Sugar Shane Mosley; Pacquiao not satisfied with his own performance!

Why many people love Manny Pacquiao? The Pinoy champ is an entertainer and he got humble heart.. He wants to entertain people especially the boxing fans. In this fight, Manny displayed honesty -- he shared during an interview that he is not contented with his own performance in the ring today.

Manny Pacquiao defended and reatained his WBO welterweight title by defeating the future Hall of Famer Sugar Shane Mosley on Saturday night via unanimous decision at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas (Sunday - Manila time).

The Pacman knocked Mosley down with a left hook in the third round but he still wants some entertaining action in which many are surely expecting. Mosley just became a defensive retreating fighter. In the 10th round, Mosley stepped on Pacquiao's foot and pushed him down.

After the fight, Manny revealed that he is bothered by a cramp in his left leg which resulted to his fair non-explosive performance. The leg issue also happened in his fight last November against Antonio Margarito.

“It wasn’t my best performance,” Pacquiao had. “I did my best. I did not expect this result.”

Scorecard: 120-108, 120-107 and 119-108 -- All in favor of Pacquiao.

Pacquiao will get minimum of $20 million for the fight, while Mosley was guaranteed $5 million.

Still Manny Pacquiao is the best boxer in the world today.

New Charges: Floyd Mayweather Jr. Gun Threats on Security Guards

No. 1 top boxing headline is the upcoming May 7 bout of Peoples champ Manny Pacquiao and Sugar Shane Mosley but it seems Floyd Mayweather Jr. also wants to keep his name on headline --- in a negative way!

Troubled boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. is facing another legal problem as he was charged with misdemeanor harassment in Vegas. He threatened to have two security guards shot October last year.

The two guards gave a parking citations on Floyd's cars outside of his mansion. "Money" Mayweather doesn't like what the guards are doing so he says:

"My homies have guns. If you want me to call them, they'd come over here and take care of you.These are my f**king cars. Don't touch my f**king cars."

Another pattern of his umlawful behavior. He is also facing felony and misdemeanor charges over the domestic violence incident with his baby mama Josie Harris. He is being accused of assault with a deadly weapon and the alleged victim is his former employee. Another misdemeanor battery was charged on him over a poking incident filed by a security guard.

Norm Macdonald knows Manny Pacquiao will win; $25,000 Bet

Norm Macdonald is 100% positive about Manny Pacquiao's upcoming victory against Sugar Shane Mosley that's why he bet $25,000 on the Filipino champ!

TMZ reports that Macdonald made the bet at the sports book for the Wynn/ Encore hotels on April 29 and showed off the betting ticket on last night's "Sport's Show with Norm Macdonald."

The odds are heavy --- a Pacquiao win --- Macdonald's 25k bet will earned him $3,125. If the result goes the opposite, Macdonald's 25k will be down to the drain.

Manny Pacquiao and Shane Mosley will be displaying their punching power on the ring on May 7, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas (Manila Time - May 8).

'SUGAR' SHANE MOSLEY: "Dogfighting Is for Cowards. Don't Do it." New PETA Ad

Boxing champ Manny Pacquiao and Shane Mosley are both ready to display their punching power on the ring on May 7, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas (Manila Time - May 8) but before the big event, "Sugar" Shane Mosley is speaking out against Dogfighting in a new PETA campaign in which he poses in the ring alongside the words:

"I Choose to Fight. Dogs Don't. Dogfighting Is for Cowards. Don't Do it."

Mosley explains, "My opponents and I know that when we step into the ring, we choose to be there and that if we don't come out on top, we can at least walk away. Dogfighting isn't like that." He concludes, "Dogfighting is dirty, it's cruel, and it's a loser's game."

Dogfighting is a vicious blood sport that leaves animals mangled and maimed. Even though it is illegal in the Philippines, dogfighting continues to thrive and is kept hidden from public view. PETA has seen dogs after they were forced to fight—they are left ripped apart, bloody, soaked in urine, unable to walk, and covered with cuts, bruises, and scars. The "losers" of these fights are often killed by their handlers.

Mosley joins a growing list of athletes and other celebrities—including Tito Ortiz, Ron Artest, Michael Strahan, Mac Danzig, Carey Hart, and many more—who have teamed up with PETA to speak out against animal abuse.

Charice to sing Philippine National Anthem at Manny Pacquiao-Shane Mosley fight

International singing sensation Charice was so glad that boxing champ Manny Pacquiao chose her to sing the Philippine National Anthem in the upcoming Manny Pacquiao-Shane Mosley fight on May 7 (Manila time: May 8) at MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Charice tweeted, "Thank you Sir. Manny Pacquiao for choosing me to sing the Philippine Nat'l Anthem for your fight. Feel really blessed :)"

The person who will sing the "Lupang Hinirang" is one of the attraction in every Pacquiao fight and most of the time, the National Historical Institute (NHI) is criticizing the singer's renditions of the song.

Kobe Bryant Apologizes To Gay Rights Group to end controversy

After giving the "out of frustration" excuse, Lakers star Kobe Bryant has finally decided to apologized for his homophobic slur. Kobe contacted Joe Solmonese of Human Rights Campaign and it seems the apology is well accepted.

Joe Solmonese told TMZ, “I applaud Kobe Bryant for his swift apology. We had a very sincere conversation in which he expressed his heartfelt regret for the hurt that his words caused. He told me that it’s never OK to degrade or tease, and that he understands how his words could unfortunately give the wrong impression that this is appropriate conduct.”

“At the end of a difficult day, I applaud Kobe for coming forward and taking responsibility for his actions.”

Yes, Kobe apologized but the truth is --- He just want to end this controversy and prevent it to blow out of proportion.

NBA Fines Kobe Bryant $100,000 Over Gay Slur; Kobe's Statement over the incident

NBA star Kobe Bryant was slapped with a $100,000 fine after using a homophobic slur against NBA referee Bennie Adams which was caught on camera during a LA Lakers game on Tuesday night (April 12).

Bryant was caught saying "f**king f*ggot" after referee Beanie Adams gave a technical foul against him. [Video Below]

Gay rights group "Human Right Campaign" condemn Kobe's action. In an issued statement:

“What a disgrace for Kobe Bryant to use such horribly offensive and distasteful language, especially when millions of people are watching.”

“Hopefully Mr. Bryant will recognize that as a person with such fame and influence, the use of such language not only offends millions of LGBT [lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender] people around the world, but also perpetuates a culture of discrimination and hate that all of us, most notably Mr. Bryant, should be working to eradicate.”

Kobe released a statement defending his outburst.

“What I said last night should not be taken literally. My actions were out of frustration during the Heat of the game, period. The words expressed do NOT reflect my feelings towards the gay and lesbian communities and were NOT meant to offend anyone.”

The harm is done.... Kobe's statement only shows that he has no intention of giving a sincere apology.
