ObamaCare = EPIC FAIL

It's getting more difficult by the day to envision a scenario in which Obamacare passes the House in anything close to it's current form.

Actually, moderate Dems are increasingly distancing themselves from Obama as his managerial ineptitude becomes obvious... and his poll numbers continue to tank. And the reality of the President's radical, racist, and specious agenda scares away supporters weekly. So it comes as little surprise then if there aren't enough Yes-We-Can troopers left in Congress willing to take-one-for-the-team in the 2010 mid-terms so the team captain can continue with his statist revolution on their political graves.

As the dire prognosis for Obamacare only gets worse, the increasingly desperate Team Obama and Democratic leadership have taken to directly slandering the public, labeling recent Obamacare protestors at town-hall meetings "un-American", "Nazis" -or even the "KKK" in the case of Charles Dingell (D-Mi).

Back in reality, these race-bating hypocrites are the ones who bussed-in union thugs to bully concerned citizens at town-hall events... and are now running ads to hire exactly the kind of rent-a-mob they're falsely-accusing the GOP and insurance industry of doing... paying $10-15/hr to Astroturf for the DNC. Other dubiously-procured friendship would include the pharmaceutical industry's recent back-room deal with Obama, in which they obviously promised support for the bill... in exchange for God-knows-what.

As noted by Van at Moonbattery-

"To paraphrase Ann Coulter, if you want to know what liberals are up to, just listen to what they're accusing you of."

With Obama frantic and scrambling to shore-up crumbling support for this stealth nationalization of the US health-care system, the White House is planning for him to take-it-on-the-road for three upcoming town-hall meetings- which it's safe to assume will be as scripted (with DNC plants) and plastic as we've learned to expect from this crew.

But Barack Obama and his power-grab/socialized medicine scheme are in for a rough ride during the August congressional recess as he will be trying to peddle this disengenuous and unpopular "reform" to an increasingly skeptical public over the coming days.

The Dear Leader is facing a daunting uphill battle:

And as Dorothy Rabinowitz wrote in the Wall Street Journal today... the supposedly gifted speaker and formidable campaigner Obama has been incredibly ham-handed in his presentation and promotion of this misguided legislation:
It didn’t take chaotic town-hall meetings, raging demonstrators and consequent brooding in various sectors of the media to bring home the truth that the campaign for a health-care bill is, to put it mildly, not going awfully well.
It’s not hard now to envision the state of this crusade with just a month or two more of diligent management by the Obama team—think train wreck. It may one day be otherwise in the more perfect world of universal coverage, but for now disabilities like the tone deafness that afflicts this administration from the top down are uninsurable.
Bottom line is that Barack Obama has already wasted most of his political momentum, and has failed to force this legislative Blitzkreig down our throats as planned. With the opportunity for a slam-dunk gone, he faces a brutal war-of-attrition as the country's silent majority comes-to and starts asking some long-overdue questions. The more Americans learn about what was buried in this thing, i.e. government-funded abortion-on-demand... the less they like it.

For those keeping score, this will be the rookie-in-mom-jeans' third strike: the so-called stimulus package is now widely thought to have been a profligate mistake- and now Obama's other two major legislative initiatives -Cap-n-Trade and Obamacare- are in serious peril. Perhaps recalcitrant Democrats in the House and Senate have noted this glaring reality... and are acting accordingly.

Best Obama Rap Video Yet!

These guys are pretty funny- Hey Jay-Z,
why don't you do something along these lines, man?

The Obamapologists

Obviously, with the MSM so in-the-tank for Team Obama, and having bet all their chips on blue some time ago- they will now be finding it difficult to extricate themselves from the role of knee-jerk apologists for a president who's popularity is in steep decline.

Surely many have been caught by surprise by Obama's collapsing support, and will rapidly formulating a Plan B they didn't think they'd be needing for awhile... if ever. For people with a business to run, their blind support of the Dear Leader seems to have been a reckless gamble... perhaps fueled by liberal hubris and delusions of their own power.

But many of those who have painted themselves into this corner will not be able to reverse course, and their residual credibilty will evaporate. They are actually complicitous in covering-up Obama's shady past and dubious credentials, and in the process saddled us with the most radical and anti-American of presidents.

These media figures -the Courics, the Gibsons, Williams', MSNBC- will likely go down with the USS Obamamania, while those who put a little more effort into seeking the actual truth -like ABC's Jake Tapper- will be recognized for fulfilling their duties as more principled journalists.
The entire American media scene might be shaken to the core, and in the wake a new landscape with the traditional MSM in smoldering little bits- and new media emerging as the most likely victors.

Obvious exceptions would be Obama pumpers at Daily Kos, HuffPo, and other online toadies who will be recognized as the propaganda organs that they actually are. It will also be interesting to note just how many people will still be reading these rags when Americans wince at the mere mention of the name Obama- and George Soros' son Jonathan isn't putting them on the top of the Google Blog Search results any more.

There are supposedly free-thinking American citizens still be deep in the ether, cheerleading as Obama re-arranges the deck chairs on the Titanic. Many seem oblivious to the fact that this administration is far more focused on quickly and irreversibly inflicting a radical liberal agenda upon this country than any practical management of our actual priorities. Monotonous drones appear on political forums and blog comments, and continue to be accomplices with MSM- willing to put a substantial, sustained effort into creating excuses for Obama's habitual dishonesty, hidden past/agenda/asscociates... as well as serial incompetence and shocking ignorance for a man with degrees from Columbia and Harvard... one purported to be "the smartest president ever" (hat tip: American Thinker).

But these poeple who are enabling this Bolshevik con-artist are doing a terrible disservice to this country, as he is doing everything possible to bring us down. His otherwise inexplicable disregard for things the rest of us hold dear -while lying to our faces about his true intent- appears to be part of a plan to gain from an orchestrated crisis- per the Cloward-Piven strategy.

This is a man who hates America because he had a bad childhood and was raised by far-left freaks... and unsettlingly appears to be a clinical narcissist in the mold of Hitler, Stalin, Kim Jong Il, Idi Amin, and Pol Pot. Yet there are those who still never tire of telling us how great, kind, wise, and cool he is... while doing their level-best to keep a contrasting focus on the "disaster" of the Bush Administration... just so we all realize just how good we've got it now.

Back in reality, it has become apparent to most that Obama is not only completely unqualified and incompetent, but he's little more than a racist, arrogant, self-absorbed Chicago Machine hack. His divisive comments on the Gates arrest -and nomination of a La Raza member to the SCOTUS- shows you just how far he will be setting back race relations in the country... for decades.

Many wishful-thinking or guilt-tripped voters are finally waking up to all this... although conservatives have been warning them for over a year. And Obama's disowned Chicago allies -felons Blagojevich and Rezko- haven't even started talking yet. Yet still we have those unwilling to see, many of them perhaps liberal one-issue voters who see no home for them in the GOP... and/or are directly involved with the DNC.

I'm really not that interested in the Birthers' crusade- for purely pragmatic reasons, as Biden is even worse. And you can bet that Obama planned it that way, since narcissists need to be surrounded by obsequious sycophants to confirm their omnipotence.... as-well as provide political security as an upalatable alternative.

But as the Obamapologists aggressively try to bury the birth-certificate issue, one has to wonder why they show such energetic concern... as with Sarah Palin, if she's so silly and irrelevant... why the obsession? Is the president again hiding something? He's already been proven to be a shameless liar... perhaps even a compulsive one. I'd like to see any such issue resolved in a comprehensive manner- I'm sure not going to take Obama's word for anything, after the 12 mos of his habitual dishonesty, his credibility is already non-existent.

And the numbers don't add up here: you have a guy that is supposedly so smart... yet he will spend over a million dollars to have a bunch of lawyers fight these kind of cases in court... rather than just cough-up 20 bucks and be done with it? And why seal all his records?

And the reality that they are attempting to obfuscate is that Barack Obama has not only scrapped myriad campaign promises, is not bipartisan, and is not post-racial... but that he has actually accomplished precious little in his first six months except spend trillion$ that we don't have, reach out to the scum of the earth only for them to spit in his "extended hand"... while creating new, deep divisions in this country financially, politically, and racially. All of this is in direct conflict with his past pledges and "soaring rhetoric", of course.

Why will some people defend Obama regardless of his failures and lack of moral clarity? Is this the remnants of the Totalist Cult mentality that many of us saw developing last summer? One of the most common traits of cult members is that they don't realize it's all a scam until it's too late. This is indeed a luxury that we can't afford in this country as a whole.

If these relentless Energizer-Bunny Obamapologists aren't paid by David Plouffe's "Organizing for America", they must be willingly ignorant, and/or they really need this one to work out... bad. That, or they're as naive as an 8-year-old Girl Scout. A lot of dopey wishful thinkers voted for Obama, a terribly irresponsible act without doing their DD on his past- especially since the MSM covered it all up... while only vetting the Republicans.

But with America's admirable tendancy for self-correction, a lot of these voters are now realizing their mistake, or at least starting to ask the questions they should have last year. This fact is made clear by Obama's plummeting support among the independent voters. But why would anybody still making wall-to-wall excuses for this guy still at this point? The preponderance of evidence would make any thinking person re-evaluate their support of Obama, you would think... or at least adopt a more nuanced position of support.

Myopic, delusional, or DNC volunteers/posters paid by David Plouffe... what else could they possibly be thinking?

Democrats' Healthcare Talks Break-Down in Anger

As reported in
The Hill this afternoon, yet more high-drama as the White House tries to shove unwanted semi-nationalized health care down our throats with ludicrous haste... before Obama's public support completely evaporates. But it's difficult to obtain victory at your Waterloo in the midst of a (justified) mutiny.

Moderate-conservative Blue Dog Democrats angrily stormed out of a meeting today with Henry Waxman (D-Cal), as the House healthcare negotiations dissolved in acrimony. And from the looks of it, Team Obama and their congressional allies aren't treating these Democrats any better than they do the GOP... pretending to consider their concerns with farcical "negotiations" ... and even lying to them in an attempt to ram-through Obamacare before it's too late.

The Democrats claimed that Rep. Waxman had been negotiating in bad faith over a number of provisions that the Blue Dogs demanded be changed in the stalled healthcare bill- while the 'Dogs were trying to save the Democratic Party from itself.

I’ve been lied to,” Blue Dog Coalition Co-Chairman Charlie Melancon (D-La.) said on Friday. “We have not had legitimate negotiations."
“Mr. Waxman has decided to sever discussions with the Blue Dogs who are trying to make this bill work for America,” Melancon said.
Although those Blue Dogs were supposed to be headed back into another meeting of the Energy and Commerce Democrats, their anger was visible.
If the two sides cannot reach an agreement, the only hope for passage of the bill in the House will be to go straight to the floor, an option leaders shied away from endorsing but said was an option.
But the Blue Dogs issued dire warnings to leaders contemplating that approach.
"Waxman simply does not have votes in committee and process should not be bypassed to bring the bill straight to floor,” Rep. Mike Ross (D-Ark.), the lead Blue Dog negotiator, said on Friday. “We are trying to save this bill and trying to save this party.”
Melancon said there would be 40-45 “solid no” votes from the 52-strong Blue Dogs, among other problems throughout the caucus. And Melancon said there are more Democrats who will vote against the bill.
“If they try to bring it to the floor, I think they’ll find out they have more problems than the Blue Dogs.”

Obama Below 50% in Rassmussen Poll

Back in March I did a piece Countdown to 49%, analyzing President Obama's already-slipping poll numbers.

Included was a reader's poll asking when the approval rating would fall below half- and congratulations to my readers, I'm proud to say they guessed it dead-on. July 2009 was 44% of The Reaganite Republican readers' choice, far and away the favorite pick. And I think I learned something from all of you... the next time I run a predictions-poll here... I'm running out to Vegas and putting $1000 on the result!

Besides the fact that Obama's now at the symbolic 49% point, the Rasmussen differential between those who "strongly approve" and "strongly dissapprove" of his overall job performance is also at an all time low... a negative eight. Hopefully this continuing shift in public opinion will embolden the GOP to filibuster both Cap-n-Tax and Obamacare right into the ground if either of these seriously flawed pieces of far-left legislation hobble their way on to the Senate.

And it's surely in the nations' interest that this arrogant montebank be knocked-down a peg or two... it's becoming more than obvious that Team Obama's radical agenda and ludicrous spending is not only completely out-of-control. This ideological binge comes at a time that calls for pragmatic management- and isn't what a lot of independents and moderate Democrats voted for last fall either... not by a long shot-
And that's not all from the 2008 election's most accurate pollster Rasmussen Reports... other interesting numbers out today:
Fifty-three percent (53%) now oppose the Congressional health care reformpackage. That’s up eight points over the past month. Just 20% now see healthcare as the most important of the President’s priorities. Nearly twice as many, 37%, say deficit reduction is most important.
Fifty-five percent (55%) of California voters oppose the budget agreementreached by the state’s political leaders. Sixty-four percent (64%) believe thatillegal immigrants create a major strain on the state’s budget.
Nationwide, 72% don’t want the federal government determining what type of light bulbs they should purchase.
Forty-six percent (46%) say that network television news is more reliable than the internet. Thirty-five percent (35%) disagree.
Thirty-one percent (31%) now say the U.S. is heading in the right direction. That’s down nine points from the 2009 peak. Republicans continue to enjoy a slight edge on the Generic Congressional Ballot.
A pitiful 25% believe that the economic stimulus package has helped the economy...
See recent demographic highlights from the Presidential Tracking Poll. For more measures of the President’s performance, see Obama By the Numbers.

UPDATE Sat July 25th: Obama slips in Rasmussen Poll differential to -9%... a new all-time low for this administration. Looks like a lot of people sympathized with Officer Crowley...

Barack Obama Facing His Waterloo?

Military defeat at Waterloo put an end to Napoleon's rule as the French emperor for good in 1815... and lent us all a useful metaphor in the process.

It's now beginning to appear that Obamacare might turn out to be a crushing defeat for our emperor, too... as observed by Jim DeMint (R-SC) on the Senate floor yesterday. Bonaparte had his political ups-and-downs to be sure, even returning from exile... but at least he got 17 years out of it. Obama's polls are tanking after just five months, an incredible waste of political capital and public goodwill... and he now looks to be facing potentially humiliating defeats on two pillars of his far-left agenda.

Team Obama and congressional Democrats might as-well be operating under the banner "Hope and Change...and do it Yesterday!" as they keep the pedal-to-the-metal, attempting to ram-through both Cap-n-Trade climate change and Obamacare semi-nationalized health-care legislation in rapid succession. They are now employing the same anti-democratic M.O. as with the previous $800B "stimulus" and subsequent $400B omnibus spending bill... voting largely along party lines with no real debate, various shenanigans like 300-page "amendments" dropped in the hopper at 3am, always an extra helping of pork served-up for all at the (think Roman banquet) table... and of course lawmakers have not read much of these 1000+ page bills. Perhaps the reason there's been no plans for debate from the Democratic leadership is that these big-government programs are disingenuous at the core- and have a lot more to do with monstrous tax-and-power grabs than the supposed public-good they exploit as a facade.

Now, with Barack feeling the pressure as poll numbers slip, he brings-on one of his familiar strawmen: "There are those in Washington who say that we should do nothing"- this time on health care. According to Obama, the only viable alternative anyone's considered to his proposal -a radical trillion-dollar-program, including the basis for fully-socialized medicine- is to do nothing. The GOP -nor really anyone else- has ever said anything like that, of course.

And Barack Obama will never say to your face what he actually plans to do -or achieve- with these huge new government programs. The truth is that this administration is out to completely nationalize healthcare... they'll be no private health insurance industry left after five years of Obamacare... but as has become standard practice, the President is lying about it. We are all expected to admire and praise the beauty of the socialist Trojan horses Obama keeps rolling-out, but you're forbidden to look inside or ask any questions that he doesn't feel like answering.

Rather than admit that this is was the goal from the get-go, you get some specious oratory with styrofoam props to wow the plebes and keep them in the ether, like with the tacky greek columns in Denver. To him, the revolutionary ends justify the Alinskyite means- so the Dear Leader tells you whatever he needs to... he knows what's best for you anyway.

In White House and DNC propaganda, it's "Oh yeah, you can keep your old health insurance if you like it". What they don't tell you is that's only until Obama bankrupts the private-sector providers with his Federal soon-to-be monopoly... one with access to almost-free capital and everything stacked in it's favor. As with Cap-n-Tax, this is just another Obamas power-grab with a healthy dose of soak-the-evil-rich. It's all done under the cover of public benefit, of course... just like he used to do it with Rezko and his housing projects back in Chi-town. And as with most scams, most of us don't quite figure it out until it's too late.

As for the American public, the reality that he's both habitually dishonest and not up to the job seems to finally be setting-in; Obama's poll numbers are now headed steadily south. At six months in office, Obama’s 55% approval rating puts him just 10th among the 12 post-World War II presidents at this point in their tenure. When #44 first took office... he ranked seventh.

As noted at Scared Monkeys the USA/Gallup poll finds that more and more Americans have great concerns with Obama's handling of the economy, health care and the federal deficit. For all of the free passes Obama has been provided and MSM support touting him as the savior of the economy and the most liked President ever... just 6 mos later his poll numbers hardly reflect that:
By 49%-47%, those surveyed disapprove of how he is handling the economy, a turnaround from his 55%-42% approval in May. The steepest drop came from conservative and moderate Democrats.
By 50%-44%, they disapprove of how he is handling health care policy.
•A 59% majority say his proposals call for too much government spending and 52% say they call for too much expansion of government power.
Instead of the moderation and bipartisanship we should expect from such otherwise humbling poll results -and which was promised during the campaign last year- we still get the Dear Leader's diktats shoved down our throats as fast as we can swallow. Obama's actions betray almost no concern whatsoever for the (lack of) popularity of his outlandish programs... why is that? His reaction when asked why the polls are turning against him is often that he needs to do a "better job" educating us lesser beings... that should show you just what this arrogant Bolshevik thinks of your opinion.

In another poll, only 49% surveyed by WaPo/ABC said they approve of the way Obama is handling healthcare- down from 53% last month... and 57% in April. Clearly, three months of stumping for his health care reform plan have accomplished precious little; his net approval on the issue has actually tanked during this period.

There was also evidence Obama is losing the image war. In March, just 32% said Obama was "an old-style, tax-and-spend Democrat" while 62% said he was "a new-style Democrat who will be careful with the public's money." But the public is starting to catch on to him, and 43% say he's a tax-and-spend Democrat, and now 52% see him as a "new brand" of Dem.
Yesterday, after Senator DeMint had stated that defeat on Obamacare could prove to be the president's Waterloo, Obama -visibly troubled- even mentioned DeMint by name, going-on to to state that "this isn't about me". While Obama is technically correct on that, DeMint's comment was just an off-the-cuff remark... what's worth listening to is his comprehensive rebuke of the Obamacare proposal, where the man made a whole lot of sense:

On Wednesday night, Obama is to employ a prime-time televised news conference (8 pm EDT) to regain lost momentum on this vital element of his planned big-goverment makeover of the United States. But didn't he already try just this on his day-long ABC News infomercial? Perhaps the President has some reason to expect this one will find a more receptive audience... his bit on ABC trailed sitcom re-runs in the Nielsens, rating dead-last amongst network shows that night.

An increasing number of Americans have simply become immune to Obama's soaring rhetoric as the failures mount and broken promises accumulate. Trouble for Obama is, sweet-talking an uncritical electorate is his only real talent, he's a one-trick pony... and in desperation, he'll have to play to strength.

Time for The One to get on TV yet again and lay it on thick, then...

And as Napoleon's Foreign Minister Tallyrand once said:

"Speech was given to man to disguise this thoughts"
